Teresa Lawrence is a Cuban-born entrepreneur who arrived in the United States as a refugee on President Nixon’s “Freedom Flight” in 1973. It was this pursuit of freedom, mingled with sheer uncertainty, that inspired Teresa to dedicate her life to helping people find jobs, obtain financial stability, and support their families. Under her sole-ownership since 2001, Delta Personnel has gained national recognition in the staffing industry, propelled by strategic networking and training opportunities.
Teresa is an esteemed graduate of both the Tuck School of Business-WBENC Executive Program and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. She is committed to the development of her community, actively working with local organizations to provide all workers with the opportunity to join the workforce at a fair wage. In 2020, Teresa became the majority owner and CEO of Delta Administrative Services, a professional employer organization (PEO) founded by her husband, David. As these Delta companies celebrate being in business for over 50 years, she has plans to expand into new industries nationwide, partnering with more minority businesses and advocating for diversity and acceptance.
Teresa currently serves on the following Board of Directors: WBEC South, Jefferson Economic Development Board, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Jefferson Parish Workforce Development Council. She has been awarded with the following: Women Business Enterprise Top CEO, HCCLA Excellence Award for Small Business Leadership, Red Cross Power of Women Award, WBENC Business Star Award, Jefferson Chamber’s Women-Owned Business of the Year Award and Enterprising Women of The Year Award.
